Man downs 62 sizzling canines in 10 minutes to defend well-known Fourth of July contest belt

A person has devoured his strategy to victory at a New York contest by consuming 62 sizzling canines and buns in 10 minutes – averaging one each 10 seconds or much less.

Renowned aggressive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut chomped via Nathan’s Fourth of July sizzling canine competitors claiming his sixteenth title, which hasn’t left his clutches since 2016.

The 39-year-old from Indiana comfortably out-ate his opponents, with runner-up Geoffrey Esper managing 49 sizzling canines.

It’s Jaws’s sixteenth title since first competing within the yearly Independence Day contest in 2005.

However, Chestnut was unable to outdo his 2021 report when he notched 76 sizzling canines, partially all the way down to the stormy climate that delayed the competitors by two hours.

“Everybody got messed up,” Chestnut mentioned.

After his win, the pace eater mentioned it was “a rollercoaster, emotionally” having questioned if the competition would go forward in any respect.

He misplaced the coveted Mustard Belt in 2015 to YouTube consuming phenomenon Matt Stonie, who pipped him with 62 sizzling canines to 60.

In the ladies’s division, defending champion Miki Sudo swallowed 39 and-a-half sizzling canines and buns to assert her ninth title.

She beat runner-up Mayoi Ebihara’s 33-and-a-half complete after being distracted early on.

The competitors is believed to have originated in 1972 and this 12 months’s occasion drew rivals from England, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Brazil and Australia, in accordance with ESPN.
