DOWAGIAC, Mich. — A house-built airplane that had been lacking for 4 days in southern Michigan has been discovered together with the physique of the 83-year-old pilot, police mentioned Thursday.
The airplane, which was lacking since Sunday afternoon was noticed by a Michigan State Police helicopter in woods about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) north of Dowagiac on Thursday afternoon, the Dowogiac Police Department mentioned.
Police recognized the deceased pilot as Richard Martin and mentioned his physique was found on the crash web site.
The reason behind the crash was not instantly clear, investigators mentioned.
