Over three dozen charged after police break up ‘teen takeover’ in Chicago’s South Loop

Chicago police charged 40 individuals after a number of hundred youths converged on a South Loop neighborhood Sunday evening in a “teen takeover” that devolved into looting and avenue fights.

A complete of 32 teenagers and eight adults have been taken into custody after they refused to disperse, in line with police. The youngest suspects arrested have been 12 and 13 years previous.

Most of the individuals have been charged with misdemeanors equivalent to reckless conduct or trespassing, however police mentioned a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have been each arrested on felony weapons costs.
