A pair of males have been arrested on the Glenmont Metrorail station Friday after, Montgomery County Police declare, they bought onto a Ride-On bus drunk and tried to carjack it.
After midnight on Friday morning, Ricko Ford, 29, of Capitol Heights and Wayne Pitt, 30, of Gaithersburg bought onto a Ride-On bus at Glenmont. The bus was as a result of drive from the rail station to Montgomery Mall — however Mr. Pitt and Mr. Ford needed a journey to Greenbelt as an alternative.
After being knowledgeable of the particular route by the bus driver, Mr. Pitt and Mr. Ford are alleged to have demanded management of the bus.
The bus driver complied and bought off the bus within the space of Connecticut Avenue and Georgia Avenue in Wheaton, with Mr. Ford and Mr. Pitt purportedly able to drive away.
Shortly thereafter and earlier than the bus may go away Wheaton, police arrived, having acquired a report of the alleged busjacking at 12:27 a.m. Police declare to have seen Mr. Pitt and Mr. Ford holding bottles of alcohol on the entrance of the bus.
After being instructed by police a number of instances to exit, the pair complied and have been arrested.
Mr. Pitt and Mr. Ford have since been charged with tried carjacking, theft, disorderly conduct and prices associated to intoxicated public disturbance.
