URL on 798,000 Maryland license plates not redirects to on-line Filipino on line casino

A URL on 798,000 Maryland license plates commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the nationwide anthem not redirects to a web based Filipino on line casino.

As of Wednesday evening displayed on about 15% of the state’s plates as an alternative redirects to the homepage of the Maryland Vehicle Administration, in accordance to the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

The internet deal with, starspangled200.org, had been redirecting to a touchdown web page for the Fafa855 Internet on line casino’s department within the Philippines since at the least December 2022.

“In partnership with the state Department of Information Technology, the MVA engaged the services of a reputable domain broker and was able to successfully recover the URL,” MVA Deputy Director of Media Relations informed WTOP-FM.

The deal with had initially taken guests to a web page for the Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail. The nonprofit Star Spangled 200 Inc. acquired a fee for each bicentennial plate bought. 

Ownership of the area modified after the Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission lapsed in 2015, with the previous path web page nonetheless being displayed till at the least August 2022.
