NEW YORK (AP) - Los Angeles Angels infielder Brandon Drury was suspended for one recreation and fined by Major League Baseball on Tuesday for making contact with umpire Ramon De Jesus.
Drury appealed the self-discipline imposed by MLB senior vice chairman for on-field operations Michael Hill and won't need to serve the suspension till the attraction is set. It shall be heard by John McHale Jr., a particular assistant to baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred.
Drury was cited for making contact whereas arguing balls and strikes at Texas on Monday night time. He was ejected within the tenth inning after screaming in De Jesus’ face following a known as third strike.
The 30-year-old Drury is batting .252 with 10 residence runs and a .771 OPS this season.
