Angus MacNeil has been expelled from the SNP following a fallout with the occasion's chief whip.

Mr MacNeil, the MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar - or the Western Isles - was suspended from the occasion's group in Westminster final month after a reported conflict with Brendan O'Hara.

An investigation then came about into the MP's choice to not rejoin the occasion's Westminster group following his suspension, which lasted per week.

Mr MacNeil beforehand mentioned his choice to not rejoin the group was not linked to that incident, and as a substitute criticised the SNP over its independence technique.

"I didn't leave the SNP - the SNP have left me. I wish they were as bothered about independence as they are about me!" he wrote.

The choice means Mr MacNeil will sit as an unbiased MP within the Commons, of which there at the moment are 15 in complete.

On Wednesday, SNP Westminster chief Stephen Flynn was requested about Mr MacNeil on the by-election marketing campaign path in Rutherglen and Hamilton West, the seat made vacant following the profitable recall petition towards Margaret Ferrier.

However, he mentioned he wouldn't give a "running commentary" on the conduct course of and he "gets on well with Angus".

Mr Flynn mentioned he and his colleagues wished a "positive outcome" however added this was not all the time doable in politics.

Since his expulsion, Mr MacNeil has been posting important tweets on social media concerning the SNP's power-sharing take care of the Green Party, also called the Bute House settlement.
