BOSTON — Boston Bruins ahead Milan Lucic was launched on private recognizance bail Tuesday after pleading not responsible to assaulting his spouse.

According to a Boston Police Department report, Lucic appeared intoxicated when officers arrived at his North End condo early Saturday after his spouse reported that he tried to choke her. Brittany Lucic instructed the responding officers that her husband had pulled her hair, however stated he didn't attempt to strangle her. She declined a proposal of medical therapy.

Milan Lucic, a member of the Bruins‘ 2011 Stanley Cup championship group, was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery on a member of the family, which carries a most penalty of 2½ years in jail.
