A "cancer-killing pill" has appeared to "annihilate" strong tumours in early analysis - leaving wholesome cells unaffected.

The new drug has been in growth for 20 years, and is now present process pre-clinical analysis within the US.

Known as AOH1996, it targets a cancerous variant of a protein known as proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA).

In its mutated type, PCNA is "critical" within the replication of DNA, and the restore of all "expanding tumours".
