A cargo of 13,660 pairs of counterfeit Converse sneakers shipped from China and supposed for an tackle in Los Angeles was seized in Baltimore final week, Customs and Border Protection introduced.

If the kicks had been actual, the pairs of sneakers would have been value $314,180.

“Unscrupulous manufacturers and vendors illegally profit on the sale of substandard counterfeit products, such as these fake Chucks, at the expense and safety of American consumers,” CBP Area Port of Baltimore Director Adam Rottman stated.

The canvas-topped sneakers had been first inspected on the Port of Baltimore on June 23. Customs brokers had suspicions that the sneakers had been faux, so that they detained the cargo and despatched images of the merchandise to the mental property workforce on the company’s commerce workplace.

When a violation of the mid-sole Converse trademark was confirmed, the stock listing and evidentiary footage had been despatched to the Apparel, Footwear, and Textile Centers of Excellence and Expertise, who decided the worth of the sneakers.
