WASHINGTON — Joey Meneses drove in 4 runs as a part of a four-hit day, CJ Abrams homered and the Washington Nationals defeated the New York Mets 10-3 on Monday to separate a four-game collection.

New York has misplaced 9 of its final 13 and dropped 15 of 21 since its 14-7 begin. The Mets are 0-5-2 of their final seven collection and haven't gained consecutive video games since taking three in a row from April 19-21. Big-spending New York fell to fourth within the NL East, 1 1/2 video games forward of last-place Washington.

Patrick Corbin (2-5) earned his first residence victory since final Aug. 28, surrendering two runs and eight hits over six innings.

The rebuilding Nationals, who scored in every inning they batted besides the second, improved to 17-17 since shedding 5 of their first six video games.

Meneses doubled in Lane Thomas with one out within the first to place New York in one other early gap. The Mets have been outscored 37-9 within the first inning this season.

Meneses added one other RBI double within the third off New York starter David Peterson (1-6). Keibert Ruiz adopted with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1.

The Nationals scored two extra runs within the fourth and one other within the fifth towards Peterson, who allowed six runs and 9 hits in 5 innings. Peterson has yielded at the least 4 runs in six consecutive begins, and his ERA ballooned to a season-high 8.08.

Abrams hit a solo shot off Tommy Hunter within the sixth. It was the second day in a row Abrams went deep, and three of his 4 homers this season have come towards the Mets.

Meneses added a run-scoring infield single later within the inning and an RBI double within the eighth. He is hitting .452 (19 of 42) with 20 RBIs with runners in scoring place.

The Mets managed three hits in two totally different innings towards Corbin, however pushed throughout only one run in each of them - Jeff McNeil’s RBI single within the second and Tommy Pham’s sacrifice fly within the sixth.
