Indianapolis Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers Sr. stated he made an “error in judgment” after stories surfaced this week that the National Football League was investigating him for doable violations in its playing coverage. 

According to ESPN and SportsHandle.com, a sportsbook account was opened below the title of Mr. Rodgers’ affiliate. More than 100 bets have been positioned within the account over an undisclosed interval. Most of the bets ranged from $25 to $50, with some being positioned on Colts video games. 

“The last thing I ever wanted to do was to be a distraction to the Colts organization, my coaches and my teammates. I’ve let people down that I care about. I made an error in judgment and I am going to work hard to make sure that those mistakes are rectified through this process. It’s an honor to play in the NFL and I have never taken that lightly. I am very sorry for all of this,” Mr. Rodgers stated Monday.

Mr. Rodgers, 25, performed in 15 Colts video games final season and is predicted to begin for the crew within the upcoming season. 

Under present NFL playing pointers, all league personnel are barred from partaking in betting on NFL video games or betting in any respect in league services.

The Rodgers investigation comes after the NFL suspended 5 gamers over playing violations in April. Quintez Cephus and C.J. Moore of the Detroit Lions and Shaka Toney of the Washington Commanders have been suspended indefinitely for playing on NFL video games through the 2022 season. Also, Lions gamers Stanley Berryhill and Jameson Williams acquired six-month suspensions for betting on non-NFL video games from league services.
