A steely aggressive spin and versatile body are key elements to longevity, says Novak Djokovic.

Stretching has prolonged his profession, defending Wimbledon champion Djokovic stated.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion cites his dedication to stretching and suppleness together with his endurance on the prime of the game.

"I always have worked a lot on my flexibility, since a young age," Djokovic informed the media after sweeping Stan Wawrinka at Wimbledon. "I was taught this was extremely important because that's going to give me longevity. Focusing a lot and doing a lot on prevention."

The 36-year-old Serbian celebrity stated he is so dedicated to stretching, he trains for a couple of hours earlier than even stepping on the apply courtroom.

"Just before I get on the practice court, there's a lot of work that goes into it, a few hours of work before I actually get to the training court," Djokovic stated. "That helps me. It helps extend my career. It helps me still compete at the highest level. It helps me prevent any - God forbid - injuries or anything like that.

"It's sort of should you see different gamers at that age and stage, it is sort of anticipated to have a significant harm later in your profession simply due to the damage and tear of the physique.

"Luckily for me, I've had only one significant injury that kept me out of the circuit for almost a year on and off with the surgery of the elbow. Other than that, there was some muscle tears and injuries, but generally I've kept healthy, considering the intensity of my career and the amount of matches I've played in the last 20 years."

Djokovic, who has performed 1,271 profession matches, will play Seventeenth-seeded Hubert Hurkacz for a spot within the Wimbledon fourth spherical.

"He serves extremely powerful and good. He covers the court very well," Djokovic stated of Hurkacz. "He has very long arms. When he comes to the net, he has a very good feeling at the net. He closes the net very well.

"He performs a variety of doubles as nicely. He's had some excellent success in doubles. He's snug additionally to play from the again of the courtroom defending. For a really tall man he defends nicely, even slides. He is available in and covers the web very nicely.

"Just overall very complete player. I don't see too many holes in his game really."
