AMSTERDAM — Former Netherlands and Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was in intensive care in hospital after struggling a bleed round his mind, his former membership Ajax mentioned on Friday.
Van der Sar, who stepped down as director normal of the Amsterdam membership on the finish of the season, was in secure situation, Ajax added with out elaborating.
“Everyone at Ajax wishes Edwin a speedy recovery. We’re thinking of you,” Ajax tweeted.
Dutch media reported the 52-year-old Van der Sar was on trip in Croatia when he turned unwell.
Van der Sar performed at golf equipment together with Ajax, Juventus and United. He appeared 130 instances for the Netherlands.
He served greater than a decade on the Ajax board earlier than stepping down after the membership completed third within the Eredivisie final season.
“After nearly 11 years on the board, I’m exhausted,” Van der Sar mentioned when he introduced he was leaving Ajax in May.
