A former Metropolitan Police Department officer and police union official has pleaded responsible to time and attendance fraud associated to his second job at three D.C. Whole Foods places.

Medgar Webster Sr., a former MPD officer and the previous Vice Chairman of the D.C. Police Union, labored 1,400 hours at three D.C. Whole Foods shops between January 2021 and April 2022 whereas on the pressure. 

Although some second jobs are permitted, Webster by no means submitted the required kinds or obtained the wanted authorization.

In addition, 514 of these 1,400 hours have been double-billed; Webster submitted them as MPD common, vacation, and extra time hours funded by taxpayers, though he was working at Whole Foods for the length.

Of these 514 double-billed hours, Webster submitted almost half of them as extra time, at an adjustable hourly fee of $79.67.

All in all, Webster stole $33,845 from the Metropolitan Police Department by way of submitting for faux time labored. As a part of his plea settlement, Webster should pay that sum again; sentencing on the primary diploma felony time and attendance fraud cost will likely be held on July 25.

The most sentence Webster may face is 10 years in jail.

“By stealing from the Metropolitan Police Department, Medgar Webster, Sr. not only committed a crime, but he violated the trust that District residents place in law enforcement officers,” stated D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb.
