Human stays of a lacking fisherman have been discovered inside two crocodiles in a distant a part of northern Queensland in Australia.

Kevin Darmody was fishing with pals by the Kennedy River in Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park on Saturday afternoon when he disappeared.

Authorities consider the 65-year-old from the city of Laura was taken after shifting to the water's edge.

Friends who had been with him on the time didn't see the assault, however reported listening to him yell, adopted by a loud splash.

Queensland Police stated: "Human remains were located within two crocodiles euthanised by department of environment and science (DES) wildlife officers.

"Police consider the stays are these of the lacking 65-year-old Laura man, pending the formal identification course of.

Officers consider the 2 crocodiles (4.1m and a couple of.8m) had been concerned in an incident with the 65-year-old and had been positioned upstream from the place he was final seen.

"Search and rescue operations in Lakefield have been discontinued at this time. Police will now prepare a report for the coroner."

Mr Darmody was final seen at Kennedy Bend, a campsite on the nationwide park.
