BARCELONA, Spain — Israel ahead Shon Weissman has not traveled with Granada for its Spanish league sport at Osasuna on Friday as a consequence of what the membership says are safety issues, based on a membership official.

The Granada official confirmed Spanish media experiences to The Associated Press that Weissman had not gone together with his teammates to Pamplona for safety causes. The official, who spoke anonymously since he was not licensed to remark publicly on the problem, wouldn't verify if the advice got here from the membership’s personal safety service or from authorities authorities.

Spanish media experiences that authorities have been nervous a few doubtlessly hostile ambiance created by Osasuna supporters who've allegedly been angered by social media posts made by Weissman relating to the violence within the Gaza Strip for the reason that assault by Hamas into Israeli territory on Oct. 7.

Weissman has since erased these social media remarks.

The 27-year-old Weissman has performed in Spain since 2020, when he joined Valladolid from Austrian membership Wolfsberger. He helped Granada earn promotion from the second division final season.

He made his worldwide debut for Israel in 2023 and has gone on to make 31 appearances for his nation, scoring 5 targets.
