Labour has denied claims it's providing peerages to Labour MPs so that they stand down to create space for Sir Keir Starmer's chosen candidates.

A variety of left-wing Labour MPs informed The Times they'd be elevated to the House of Lords in the event that they gave up their seats.

But Yvette Cooper, Labour's shadow dwelling secretary, informed Sky News' Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips: "No party can do that, it's not the way the system works."

The allegation got here after Sir Keir was accused of attempting to eliminate candidates to the left of the get together.
