NEW YORK — Mets pitcher David Peterson is projected to overlook the beginning of subsequent season following surgical procedure to restore a torn labrum in left hip.
New York mentioned Tuesday that Peterson had the operation on Monday on the Hospital for Special Surgery. The workforce didn't say why he waited greater than a month after the season ended to have the process.
The Mets mentioned a typical return to play is six to seven months, a timeline that will have Peterson return in May or June.
A 28-year-old left-hander, Peterson was 3-8 with a 5.03 ERA in 21 begins and 6 aid appearances with the Mets and was 1-2 with a 4.86 ERA in seven begins at Triple-A Syracuse. He is 18-21 with a 4.51 ERA in 4 main league seasons.
If supplied a contract subsequent week, Peterson could be eligible for wage arbitration for the primary time.
New York heads into the offseason with solely two sure projected beginning pitchers: Kodai Senga and José Quintana.
