Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have been honoured of their residence city with a pair of statues to have a good time their musical achievements with The Rolling Stones.

The bronze sculptures, dubbed The Glimmer Twins, seize Sir Mick strutting with a microphone whereas Richards strums a guitar.

Created by artist Amy Goodman after she was commissioned by Dartford Borough Council, the statues have been unveiled at One Bell Corner in Dartford on Wednesday.

Ms Goodman stated that sculpting the works had been "one of the hugest honours" of her profession and referred to as the expertise "very overwhelming".

She stated the method of making the work, which concerned making fashions, casting into bronze and assist from the Talos Art Foundry workforce, took a few 12 months.

Ms Goodman added: "I didn't quite know how to handle it but it's wonderful and it's a great job.

"Commissions like this make my job the very best job on this planet."

The council based the challenge to have a good time the musicians who have been each born within the city in Kent, which is south-east of central London.

Richards indicated his approval of the statues on X, formally often called Twitter, posting two thumbs up emojis.

Dartford Council chief Jeremy Kite stated: "I've had overwhelmingly good responses to it today, I think there's a surprise that actually they're so kind of animated and dynamic, the statues, and I think that's a really nice thing.

"We might have had the quaint standing upright statue, however that is Mick Jagger and Keith Richards we're speaking about, they usually do not stand nonetheless, so our statues do not."

Sir Mick and Richards first met as classmates in Dartford, Kent and went on to discovered The Rolling Stones within the Sixties.
