Gael Monfils shot down reviews he was disqualified from UTS Oslo attributable to a locker room skirmish.Β
In a submit on Twitter/X, Monfils mentioned "there was no malice or negativity on my part. No abuse, no violence."

UTS Oslo organizers issued an announcement on Friday saying Monfils was disqualified from the occasion "due to a violation of the code of conduct resulting from his behavior towards the tournament supervisor."
The assertion from the match, organized by coach Patrick Mouratoglou, prompted hypothesis that Monfils was concerned in an altercation that sparked his disqualification.

Monfils, who misplaced his match to Aussie Alex de Minaur 15-12, 17-8, 16-9, mentioned whereas "joking around in the locker room, Stephane was unfortunately hurt." Monfils mentioned the the incident was unintentional and maintains there was no malice or altercation that prompted his disqualification.
I wish to inform everybody what occurred at UTS in Oslo. As per the discharge from UTS straight, there was no malice or negativity on my half. No abuse, no violence.
However, while joking round within the locker room, Stephane was sadly damage. It was by no means my intention to harmβ¦

"The disqualification makes this look like there was an issue or altercation backstage but really there wasnβt, this was an accident and nothing more," Monfils posted. "However, whilst joking around in the locker room, Stephane was unfortunately hurt.
"It was by no means my intention to harm or trigger hurt and fortunately Stephane is aware of that. People who know me, know this isn't in my nature. Stephane and I've shook palms and transfer on.
"The disqualification makes this look like there was an issue or altercation backstage but really there wasnβt, this was an accident and nothing more."
