A Rhode Island motorist, flashing an indication that he had an explosive machine in his automobile, led Maine State Police on a chase Monday to the Canadian border.

At 10:39 a.m., a state trooper tried to cease the automobile pushed by Tony Holford, 42, as he drove northbound on Interstate 95. He continued up the street, Maine State Police stated in a press release.

The trooper, Denver Roy, observed an indication in Mr. Holford’s automobile that stated a bomb was inside. Mr. Holford continued to drive up I-95 till he reached the border crossing between Houlton, Maine, and Woodstock, Canada.

Mr. Holford stopped between the 2 ports of entry and was ordered by regulation enforcement to exit. After Mr. Holford as an alternative moved his automobile towards the Canadian aspect of the border, Maine State Police Cpl. Eric Paquette fired a warning shot.

The shot didn't injure Mr. Holford, who surrendered to regulation enforcement and who was taken to Aroostook County Jail in Houlton on fees of aggravated reckless conduct, terrorizing and failure to cease.

Regular operations on the Houlton and Woodstock border stations resumed Monday night time.
