Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro has been snapped in Edinburgh scouting for areas for a brand new manufacturing.

The Mexican filmmaker shared a selfie from outdoors restaurant The Ivy on the Square with the Scott Monument pictured within the background.

He tweeted: "Scouting for locations... Day four."

Del Toro posted a second image on Wednesday alongside Guy Davis, a frequent collaborator and artist.

Del Toro, recognized for Pan's Labyrinth, Blade II, Hellboy, The Shape of Water, and most not too long ago Pinocchio, has bagged three Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards and an Emmy Award all through his profession.

His subsequent movie is about to be a dwell motion adaptation of Mary Shelley's gothic horror novel Frankenstein.

According to Hollywood information website Deadline, Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth are in early talks to star within the Netflix manufacturing.
