BERLIN — Prince Harry arrived within the western German metropolis of Duesseldorf on Saturday the place he'll open the Invictus Games, a contest for wounded, injured and ailing service personnel and veterans.
Harry, also called the Duke of Sussex, was welcomed by the mayor, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, and about 100 cheering followers who had come to the outdated metropolis the place he shortly entered City Hall for a reception, German information company dpa reported.
The Invictus Games are being held at Duesseldorf’s Merkus Spiel area. During the opening ceremony there, Harry will probably be accompanied by Pistorius.
Harry based the Invictus Games to assist the rehabilitation of service members and veterans by giving them the problem of competing in sports occasions just like the Paralympics.
He served in Afghanistan as an Apache helicopter copilot gunner in 2012-2013.
