James Corden and Adele had been delivered to tears as they reunited for a ultimate session of "Carpool Karaoke".

Corden said he had been "floored" after first hearing the song, which had been "every part I had been feeling that day".

Playing the track, Adele told him "each time I hearken to this I consider you", as Corden sat becoming visibly emotional.

Following his exit from the show, the comedian has said he plans to return to the UK to spend more time with his family.

Corden announced his departure from The Late Late Show almost exactly a year ago. He took over as host after comedian Craig Ferguson left the show.

Airing every weekday night, the show is billed as "the final word late evening after occasion", and options a mixture of celeb company, musical acts, video games and sketches.
