Tenor Stephen Gould, 61, says he has been identified with incurable bile duct most cancers.
Gould withdrew this summer time from the Bayreuth Festival in Germany, the place he was to have sung the title roles in “Tannhäuser” and “Tristan und Isolde” and Siegfried in “Götterdämmerung.”
Gould mentioned in a press release Wednesday that he has bile duct most cancers with issues. He mentioned it's deadly with “an outlook of several months to 10 months,” he wrote. “There is no cure.”
Gould mentioned he made the announcement after the Bayreuth Festival ended final week as a result of “I did not wish anything to cloud this years achievements.”
Gould was born in Virginia and has sung in most of the world’s main opera homes.
According to the Mayo Clinic, biliary tract most cancers usually doesn’t trigger any signs within the early phases. It’s usually found by chance - for instance, by means of routine blood exams or imaging performed for an unrelated motive.
