A 3-year-old in Indiana grabbed a gun and shot a person who turned out to be wished for homicide in Illinois, authorities stated.

Police in Lafayette, Indiana, stated they took Trayshaun Smith, 23, into custody Thursday after he acquired therapy for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Mr. Smith had an energetic arrest warrant in neighboring Cook County, Illinois.

Authorities stated the toddler fired just one bullet however managed to strike each Mr. Smith and the kid’s 21-year-old mom, Jalynn Artis. Ms. Artis was not significantly injured.

Police didn’t share how the kid gained entry to the gun or what prompted the kid to fireplace the weapon.

Mr. Smith and Ms. Artis are pals, based on police.
