Three-time US Olympic medallist Tori Bowie died from issues associated to childbirth, her agent has confirmed.

Bowie died on the age of 32 at her Florida dwelling in early May.

Her consultant Kimberly Holland confirmed on Tuesday she was in labour on the time of her demise.

"Unfortunately, so many people, including the media, are making speculations that she did something to herself, which is very hurtful," Ms Holland instructed CBS News.

"So hopefully, now knowing the truth, there will be many apologies."

Born in Mississippi, Bowie was a part of the US gold-medal-winning 4x100m relay crew on the 2016 Rio Olympics. She additionally claimed a silver medal for the person 100m and a bronze for 200m.

Bowie grew to become 100m world champion in 2017 after profitable gold on the occasion in London.

Responding to the information of her demise on the time, two-time world 200m champion and US file holder Noah Lyles wrote on Twitter: "This breaks my heart to hear, and I will keep the family in my prayers."
