MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Twins shortstop Kyle Farmer was hit within the face by a fastball from Chicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito within the fourth inning Wednesday.

The preliminary prognosis was introduced by the Twins as a jaw harm after the 92 mph pitch from Giolito ran inside and knocked Farmer to the grime. Giolito appeared involved as he raised his arms towards his head and walked ahead from the mound.
