Two New York residents have been arrested and charged after allegedly operating an unlawful Manhattan police station for the Chinese authorities.

The pair face federal fees of working the undeclared outpost within the Chinatown neighbourhood and conspiring to behave as brokers for Beijing, stated the US lawyer for the jap district of New York.

The case is a part of a wider effort by the Justice Department to crack down on Chinese authorities makes an attempt to harass dissidents and stifle free speech within the US, officers added.

It comes as a grievance was filed in Washington in opposition to 34 members of Beijing's Municipal Public Security Bureau, and one other in opposition to a gaggle of 10 individuals together with eight Chinese authorities officers, NBC New York reported.

The widespread thread within the three complaints was that the suspects allegedly labored to intimidate, harass and threaten 'needed' Chinese nationals contained in the US.
