A girl charged with murdering an expert bike owner in Texas tracked her actions on the train app Strava earlier than capturing her, prosecutors say.

Kaitlin Armstrong, 35, is charged with murdering Moriah "Mo" Wilson, a 25-year-old elite bike owner who had allegedly been romantically concerned with the identical man as Armstrong.

But the defence lawyer argued Armstrong is trapped in a "nightmare" of circumstantial proof.

"You didn't hear [from the prosecution] that not one witness saw Kaitlin Armstrong allegedly commit this murder. Not one," defence lawyer Geoffrey Puryear advised the courtroom. "Because there isn't one."

Armstrong has pleaded not responsible. She may withstand 99 years in jail if convicted.

The trial is anticipated to final two weeks.
