Drones focused 5 areas in largest assault on Russian soil in 18 months, protection ministry says

MOSCOW — Russia’s Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of focusing on 5 Russian areas with drones within the early hours of Wednesday in what seems to be the largest drone assault on Russian soil within the 18 months of combating in Ukraine.

Drones hit an airport within the western Pskov area and had been shot down over the areas of Oryol, Bryansk, Ryazan and Kaluga.

The strike in Pskov began an enormous hearth and 4 Il-78 transport plane had been broken, Russia’s state information company Tass reported, citing emergency officers.

Pskov regional Gov. Mikhail Vedernikov ordered all flights to and from the Pskov airport canceled Wednesday, citing the necessity to assess the harm throughout daylight.

Footage and pictures posted on social media in a single day confirmed smoke billowing over town of Pskov, and a big blaze. Vedernikov mentioned there have been no casualties, and the hearth has been contained.
