Erdogan wins endorsement for Turkish election runoff from third-place candidate Ogan

ANKARA, Turkey — The third-placed contender within the Turkish presidential elections on Monday formally endorsed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the upcoming runoff vote to be held on May twenty eighth.

The nationalist presidential candidate Sinan Ogan, 55, has emerged as a possible kingmaker after neither Erdogan nor his predominant challenger, opposition chief Kemal Kilicdaroglu, secured the bulk wanted for a first-round victory on May 14th.

Ogan, a former educational who was backed by a far-right anti-migrant occasion, received 5.17% within the May 14 vote and will maintain the important thing to victory within the runoff now that he’s out of the race.

His endorsement of Erdogan got here days after he held a shock assembly with the Turkish chief in Istanbul on Friday. No assertion was made following the one-hour assembly.
