‘I’ve nothing left’: Rhodes secure proprietor picks up the items after wildfire destroys livelihood

Dimitris has misplaced all the things.

Until Saturday, he owned a secure. Now all that is left is ash.

The constructing and automobiles have been decimated. In minutes, wildfires destroyed all the things he had labored for.

“I lost my life. I don’t care about the money because this was my life… now we have nothing,” he says.

Dimitris relies in Kiotari, on the Greek island of Rhodes.

It’s one of many resorts which needed to be evacuated over the weekend.

“I cried when I saw it the first time. I cried, and I’m not the only one,” he says.

In the height season, he explains, Rhodes welcomes 200,000 guests a day.

While enormous swathes of the island stay unaffected, it is an earnings no-one can afford to lose.
