A girl and her seven-year-old baby have reportedly been rescued after falling overboard from a ferry travelling from Sweden to Poland.
Rescue companies advised Swedish information company TT that the seven-year-old fell in and the girl jumped in after.
The two have been being winched to a helicopter and have been being taken to a hospital, Stefan Land from the Swedish Maritime Administration advised TT.
He didn’t specify their situation.
The ferry, Stena Spirit, was within the Baltic Sea halfway by way of its journey to Gdynia in Poland from Karlskrona in Sweden when the incident occurred on Thursday.
A big rescue effort was initiated, with a number of helicopters and NATO ships within the space serving to out, TT reported.
The Stena Spirit can maintain as much as 1,300 passengers, based on Stena Line’s web site.
