A wild animal – believed to be a lioness – is on the unfastened on the outskirts of German capital Berlin.

Police tweeted within the early hours to inform folks to remain inside and herald pets.

Hunters, vets, a helicopter and thermal cameras are reportedly concerned within the search.

Officers have been utilizing loudspeakers and emergency apps to warn folks within the Kleinmachnow, Teltow and Stahnsdorf areas.

German media mentioned members of the general public raised the alarm after seeing the animal chasing a wild boar.

“The two gentlemen recorded a smartphone video and even experienced police officers had to confirm that it is probably a lioness,” police spokesman Daniel Kiep informed native broadcaster rbb.

A video on Twitter – which has not but been verified by Sky News – seems to indicate an enormous cat in undergrowth.

No zoos or circuses have reported lacking an animal, so it is unclear the place it got here from.

Police had been nonetheless looking out the southwest fringes of the town as daylight broke and imagine it could possibly be sleeping in a wooded space.

“The escaping wild animal has NOT been found yet! We still ask you not to leave the house. If you see the animal, please call the emergency number 110!,” Brandenburg police tweeted.
