U.S. Navy acoustic system detected ‘anomaly’ that was probably Titan implosion, official says

A U.S. Navy acoustic system detected an ‘anomaly’ Sunday that was probably the Titan’s deadly implosion, in accordance with a senior army official.

The Navy went again and analyzed its acoustic knowledge after the Titan submersible was reported lacking Sunday. Coast Guard officers on Thursday introduced that the craft suffered a catastrophic implosion, killing all 5 aboard.

That anomaly was “consistent with an implosion or explosion in the general vicinity of where the TITAN submersible was operating when communications were lost,” in accordance with a senior Navy official.



The official spoke on situation of anonymity to debate a delicate acoustic detection system.

The Navy handed on the knowledge to the Coast Guard, which continued its search as a result of the Navy didn’t think about the info to be definitive.

The Wall Street Journal on Thursday first reported the Navy’s involvement.
